Peter Quinn Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Surrounded by family at C.E.E. Hospital, Petrolia, Peter Quinn passed away on Monday, July 18, 2022 at the age of 85. Born in Manchester, England, Peter immigrated to Canada in 1957. He was the beloved husband to Mary Quinn (nee VanDun) for 61 years. Loving father to Pauline (the late Les) Quinn-Gardner, Owen (Birgit) Quinn, Wendy (Geoff) Ainsworth, and Martin (Paula) Quinn, grandfather to Nicholas, Toni (Justin), Amanda (Luke), Jennifer (Casey), Michelle, Kayla (Kyle), and Erienne, and great grandfather to Maverick, Cara, and Zoey. Peter was the son of the late Owen and Maude Quinn, and is survived by brothers and sisters: Brian (Pat), Paul (Cath), Eileen (Tony), Mike (Ann), Frank (Marg), and Tony and predeceased by a sister Mary and brothers Vincent and Bernard. Peter was the son-in-law of the late John and Elizabeth VanDun and is a brother in law to Joe (the late Geraldine) VanDun, Maggie (Ken) Freer, and Wally (Karen) VanDun. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Peter started working at Krall Poultry Farms in 1957, in January 1961 he started working at Hyme’s Clothing Store and eventually became owner. He enjoyed traveling and gardening was his passion. Visitors will be received on Thursday, July 21, 2022 from 11:00 am to 1:00 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia. A private service will be held with Interment in Mount Calvary Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be left to Diabetes Canada (diabetes.ca) or C.E.E.
