Michael O'Donovan

July 8, 1928 - January 20, 2019

At his home in Petrolia on Sunday, January 20, 2018, Michael Desmond O’Donovan passed away at the age of 90. Beloved husband to Eileen for 66 years. Loving father to Kathleen (Ron) Brooks, Brenda (Pat Walker) O’Donovan, Michael (Alesia Stanford) O’Donovan, Patrick O’Donovan, Nora (Alison MacMillan) O’Donovan, and the late Theresa Prisner and her husband Ralph Iontosca. Proud Papa to Ron Brooks, Mary Brooks, Keri (Brian Shannon) Brooks, Joe (Jenna Tessier) Brooks, Shannon O’Donovan, Meghan O’Donovan, Erin (Duanne) Lepine, Gavin McFarland, and Derek Prisner. Great grandpa to Bailey Shannon, Brooke and Kristy VanMeenen, and Maggie and Charlie Lepine. Survived by his brother Leo (Mary Jane) O’Donovan and brother-in-law to Mary Lou O’Donovan. Predeceased by his parents Benjamin and Mary O’Donovan, and his siblings Kathleen (Al) Garteshore, Jack (Jean) O’Donovan, Vince O’Donovan, Sheila (Joe) Cavarini. Des will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitors will be received by the family on Wednesday from 6-8 pm from the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, 4059 Petrolia Line, Petrolia with parish prayers being offered at 7:45 p.m. A Memorial Mass will take place on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Philip’s Parish, 515 King Street.
