Edna Jones

Edna Jones (nee Unsworth), of Dresden and formerly of Petrolia and Goderich died peacefully at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance- Wallaceburg Site on Tuesday, February 1, 2022, in her 98th year. Edna was the daughter of the late Ray and Blanche Unsworth. She was the loving wife of the late Elwyn Jones (1999). She is survived by her children Rev. Blake and his wife Saundria Jones, Maureen and her husband Dr. Tim Slavens, and Dr. Mark and his wife Brenda Jones, fourteen grandchildren and their spouses, Heidi and Rev. Seth Weatherald, Dr. Daron and Amber Jones, Cherie and Rev. Titus Byer, Derek and Abby Jones, Kendrick and Emily Jones, Heather and Kevin Forney, Rev. Timothy Jr. and Rebekah Slavens, Meagan and Matthew Espenshade, Sofia and Levi Musser, Phoebe and Brian Spangler, Stephanie Slavens, Reuben and Alissa Slavens, Brent Jones, and Ashley Jones, and twenty six great grandchildren. Edna was predeceased by a sister Myrtle and brother-in-law George Moulton, a grandchild Benjamin Jones, and great grandchild Daniel Weatherald. Extending hospitality and kindness was a way of life for Edna. She was a member of the Dawn Valley Bible Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be held at Hillsdale Cemetery, Petrolia. A Memorial Service will be conducted from the Rock Lake Bible Methodist Church, 8101 N. Pine Grove Road, Vestaburg, Michigan on Saturday February 12, 2022 at 11:00am. Edna’s family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Park St. Place for their exceptional kindness and care over the years.
