Carolyn Napper

June 25, 1945 - January 1, 2022

With great sadness, the family of Carolyn Joyce Napper (nee Lenzo) announce her peaceful passing on Saturday, January 1, 2022 at Charlotte Eleanor Englehart Hospital, Petrolia, at the age of 76. She is survived and loved by her husband of 53 years, Lonny Napper Plympton-Wyoming, and her daughter Victoria (Michael) Maxel of Sheboygan, WI. Cherished sister of Ginny (Don) McMurray of Sarnia. Beloved aunt of Don Jr. (Lisa) McMurray of London, and David (Carla) McMurray of London, and treasured Great-Aunt of Erin and Josh McMurray, and MacKenzie and Brooke McMurray. In lieu of flowers, we are gathering funds for a gazebo improvement at Meadowview Villa Petrolia. Donations should be sent to the Auxiliary at Lambton Meadowview Villa. Donations can also be made to Lambton Elderly Outreach. Carloyn was born June 25, 1945 in Petrolia, Ontario. She was predeceased by her parents Reg and Joyce Lenzo of Camlachie, Ontario. She spent her childhood at the family farm on Egremont Road in Plympton Township. She graduated from Forest District High School in Forest, Ontario in 1961. She went on to start her much-enjoyed secretarial career at Morden and Helwig, and later in life, at Adjusters Canada. In 1968, Carolyn married her husband, Lonny Napper. Their daughter Victoria was born in 1981. Carolyn and her family moved back to the old family farm in 1983, where she tended to her beautiful and extensive gardens, kept the company of many cherished pets, and won endless rounds of Trivial Pursuit. Carolyn was the strongest person we had the honour of knowing. In 1999, Carolyn was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis, and in spite of many difficult health struggles, she always faced life with good cheer, and her wonderful sense of humour intact. She never complained, always took time to smell the roses, and taught us all that life can still be lived with joy even in the face of great adversity. Our family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff of Meadowview Villa Petrolia for their years of wonderful and kind care. Carolyn was affectionately known as "the Lady in the Gazebo", greeting all visitors to home as they passed by. She made many friends there, and was proud to call Meadowview her home. Special thanks to Dr. Taylor, Dr. Daniels, and Dr. Hijazi for their dedicated and kind medical care. Deepest thanks to the staff of the palliative care unit at C.E.E. Hospital for their compassionate care in Carolyn's final days. Our family would also like to thank the excellent drivers at Lambton Elderly Outreach for making years of cherished home visits possible. In honour of Carolyn's final wishes, no viewing will be held. A private, family-only memorial will be held on January 5, 2022 at Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Wyoming.
