Ever since we opened our doors we have approached life (and death) differently. While some just see the end of a loved one’s life as a time for grief and mourning, we prefer to think of it as a time for reflection, appreciation and even celebration. This is evident in everything we do, from the way we conduct our services to the amenities we choose to offer. We are not a burial ground. We are a close knit community dedicated to honoring, sharing and preserving the amazing and inspirational stories that are life.

We spend our days planning with families. We stay up to date with industry developments. And we make hard times a little easier.

Funeral service in the town of Petrolia - Central Lambton area of Ontario dates back to the 1920's when funeral service was provided by the late D.M. Steadman and the late A. O. Richmond. In approximately 1950, William Jay purchased the D.M. Steadman Funeral Home and operated it along with an ambulance service until his retirement in 1977. At that time, the ambulance service and funeral home were separated and the funeral home was sold to Arthur Needham.

The former A.O. Richmond Funeral Home was sold to Derwood Bradley in 1954 and operated until his death in 1978. Following the untimely death of Arthur Needham in the fall of 1979, the funeral home was operated and subsequently purchased in 1981 by its current owners, Roger and Patricia Mailloux. In 1992, the Mailloux's purchased the former McKay & White Funeral Home in the village of Wyoming. That facility is operated under the name of "Wyoming Chapel" and is wholly owned by Needham-Jay Funeral Home Inc.
