Memorial Mike Bernetic Wednesday, June 20, 1945 - Friday, April 16, 2010 Peacefully at St. Joseph’s Hospice, Sarnia on Friday, April 16, 2010 MIRANDO MARIJAN “MIKE” BERNETIC, 64 years, of Petrolia. Mike will be missed by his wife Gwendolyn Laurel (nee Sayers), his children Tanya Maria Bernetic and Jack Morrison of Sarnia, Erika Laurel Bernetic of Sarnia and her son Alexei Christopher Miroslav Bernetic-Mathany, Gregory Viktor and Tina Marie Bernetic of Peace River, Alberta and their children Dominic Blake and Sydney Lauretta, and Natasha Michelle and Lincoln Grant of Overland Park, Kansas. He was a brother to Silvana Fazekas of Windsor, Marija Knez, Anna Gherbaz, Lilijana Calabrese, the late Armida Bonin, and the late Marijan Bernetic. Mike will also be missed by his companions Chelsea and Cody. Born in Slovenia, the son the late Viktor Bernetic and Marija Gojak, Mike graduated from the technical school in Maribor, Yugoslavia and immigrated to Canada in 1966. Mike became well known for owning and operating the Cake Box in Petrolia from 1971 to 1997. Visitors will be received on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia where a funeral service will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the St. Joseph’s Hospice (www.stjosephshospice.ca) or the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca).
