At Bluewater Health Palliative Care on Wednesday, April 14, 2010. STANLEY LATHIGEE, 81 years, of Point Edward, passed away after a short courageous battle with cancer. Born in 1929 in Main a Dieu, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia to Jane and Barney Lathigee, and the second eldest of nine children. Predeceased by his wife Christina. Best friend and companion of Cathy Scott of Petrolia and her family, Don Scott, Anita and Steve Klapak and family. His greatest and most enjoyable passion was playing the fiddle and mandolin. He went to many Fiddle and Bluegrass Jamborees in Ontario, Michigan, Florida etc. He also enjoyed fishing, cards, and watching the St. Clair River every morning while reading his newspaper and drinking coffee. Stanley was a member of the Plumbers & Pipefitters Union Local 663. Cremation has taken place. A celebration of Stanley’s life will be held at a later date. Special thanks to all the staff at palliative care and Stanley’s friends.
