At his home on Sunday, April 4, 2010. BILL JOHNSTON, 78 years, of Petrolia. Bill was a loving husband to Martha (nee DeShutter). He will be missed by his children Tim and Heather of Innisfail, Alberta and Jeff and Sara of Petrolia and his grandchildren, Addison, Cresta, Tiffany, Kyle, Natalie, Olivia, and Hannah. Bill was predeceased by his parents Harry and Ruby Johnston, his step-father Reg Argent, and a sister Frances Johnston (1966). Bill’s family would like to thank all the staff of C.C.A.C. and C.E.E. Hospital and all the nurses and home care workers who supported Bill through his illness. Visitors will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. Petrolia/Washington Lodge #194 will hold a memorial service on Wednesday at 6:45 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Paul’s United Church, Petrolia. Rev. Dr. Robert M. Gibson officiating. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca) or C.E.E.
