Evelyn May Adams (nee Mitchell), 83 years of Oakdale, passed away on Monday, August 11, 2008 surrounded by her family at Victoria Hospital, London. Predeceased by her husband Allan Keith Adams (October 13, 2003) after 62 years of marriage. Born in Oil Springs, the daughter of the late Robert Wm. and Cora May Mitchell (nee Byers). Cherished and much loved mother of Dick and Donna Adams of Oakdale, Ken Adams of Blue Point and Terry Giles of Sarnia, and Diane and Steve Reed of Oil City. Loving grandmother to seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren, and another one soon to be. Loving sister to Joanne and her husband Bill Randall of Oil Springs, and sister-in-law to Grace Adams of Oakdale and Marg McCallum of Petrolia. Evelyn was predeceased by her brothers Gerald and Mildred Mitchell and Ray Mitchell, sisters Vivian and Ray Gasco and Jean and Bill Cascaden, brothers-in-law Harvey Adams and Dalton McCallum, and sister-in-law Marie and Dan Candlish. She will also be missed by many nieces and nephews. Visitors will be received on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Needham-Jay Funeral Home, Petrolia where a funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 14, 2008 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Mark Perry officiating. Interment in Oil Springs Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made by cheque to the Oakdale United Church or the C.E.E. Hospital Foundation (Pat Mailloux Cataract Clinic) would be appreciated. She was so much loved and will be sadly missed, a truly loving and wonderful person.
