I have many fond memories of spending time with Vernon as a young boy when we would come up to the farm for a few days. He was always fun to be around, and let me have a great time on the farm. Spending time with him was one of the highlights of our trips to Canada.
You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers over the next several days.
God Bless

Sorry to read of Vernie's passing. My childhood memories are of fun times together at the Brown/Whalls reunions, as well as church and social gatherings in the Shiloh/Brooke & Enniskillen area.

I have many wonderful memories of family visits to see Uncle Roy & Aunt Edna & with Vernie & Loreen & all of the kids. Vernie certainly loved to tease us. I am sorry that due to family commitments I am unable to attend the visitation or funeral. My thoughts are with the entire family at this time. Lynne (Walker) Palmer

Hello Walker Family
Our thoughts and prayers are with you all...I have fond memories of your quiet family living on the 6th line of Enniskillen during my growing up years...I bet the neighbourhood was never the same once those 9 McCallum Kids moved in and another farmer to chat and share with...across the road and then in your grampas old family home of Verns dad , where Gary and Judy McCallum moved in next door to Vern and Loreen, there went the quiet, lots of vehicles in and out , lots of swimming parties, lots of kids dirt bikes etc, but kidding aside the love and kindness given by your dad Vern and mom Loreen was so very wonderful. They were always there, just like all the folks on that 6th line....an anchor for all of us McCallums...
our gratitude always!!! That was on the McCallum side , now my husband Randys side, randys cousin LeRoy married Verns oldest daughter Barb, so we were kinda destined to be around the Walkers Clan one way or another this lifetime. Hold on to all the fun memories and know he is so thrilled to be with your mom now and just think, now you have 2 guardian angels with you always. I can just see them all smiling celebrating Verns arrival, your family that have gone before him and many of the 6th liners who have gone before Vern are welcoming him also....
See you all later tonite.
If anything we can do, please let us know..hugs!!
In Love, Light and JOY

I remember once when Verne and family came to Chicago and we went to the Museum of Science and Industry. We were walking in the "farm"section of the museum and he said "I've got to get me a combine like this." I asked him why and he replied, "We have wheat going into the combine and oats are coming out." I wonder how many people ever noticed that. I hope this brings a smile to you guys.

Sorry to learn about Vernie's passing. My mother and father- Lena [ nee Walker] and Carl Zavitz who are both diseased often spoke very fondly about Vernie and the few times I met him he made me feel very welcome with his great sense of humour. My thoughts are with you.
