Passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Sunday, May 6, 2012 at Lambton Meadowview Villa. Betty Aileen Hackett, of Petrolia, was in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late William Hackett (1998). Cherished mother of Gwen and Nick White, Gary and Janet Hackett, Bryan and Norma...
Hackett, Debbie and Leonard McMurphy, Joel and Carol Hackett, and Jeff and Beth Hackett. Loving Nan/Grandma to Dan, Sean, Ryan, Robbie, Keri, Sara, Kirsten, Christopher, Andrea, Ashlyn, Brayden, Jack and Cameron and five great grandchildren. Fondly remembered by siblings, Shirley Metcalfe, John Duncan, Jean McDonald, Jackie Kay, Richard Duncan and the late Kenneth, Ralph, Doug, Donald, and Merlin. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Paul’s United Church, Petrolia (Petrolia Line at Albany St.), with Rev. Dr. Robert M. Gibson officiating. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to St. Paul’s United Church. I can remember when your parents owned the store in Petrolia. I then got to know Betty when we were on the Fair Board. Very nice lady and truly going to miss her and talking to her. Take care

Betty gave us much inspiration and kindness to two newcomers to Lambton County. She was there at the birth of our daughter. A kind and gracious lady with lots of love to share. The Hackett family are in our thoughts today.
