Obituary and Life History
‘Come unto me, all ye that labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.’ Matthew 11:28
Surrounded by family in the love and comfort of home and in the thoughts and prayers of family and friends in Canada, Chile and the United States, Jose Carlos “Tata” Ordenes was called to be with...
the Lord on Wednesday, January 11, 2012, in his 73rd year. Jose was a loving and protecting husband and best friend to Maria Patricia Ordenes for 43 years. He was a caring and devoted father to Patricia Angelica Rashmawi and son-in-law Simon Rashmawi of London, ON and to Jose Antonio Ordenes and daughter-in-law Susana Ordenes of Corunna, ON. Jose is survived by loving siblings Emma, Miguel, Eugenia, and Carlos. As well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nephews and nieces all who loved him dearly. He was a doting and proud grandfather to grandsons Adrian, Antonio and “Mr.” Noah. Jose will be greatly missed but never forgotten. He was predeceased by father Carlos, mother Emma and brother Francisco. Jose’s life journey began on July 12, 1939 in Santiago, Chile. Jose received his machinist designation in 1956 and worked until his retirement in 2004 from Flowserve in Sarnia (formerly Bluewater Machine). He emigrated to Canada with his young family in 1977, calling Sarnia and Inwood his home. Among his cherished hobbies was astronomy. An avid watcher of the night sky he became a member of RASC and earned several certificates of which Messier would approve! Whether unbearable humidity or severe cold, he braved the elements to find a new sky object. Jose was also very passionate about soccer and golf. Quality time for Tata was also spent tending to his garden. With his grandsons they planted potato and tomato and together harvested. A man of faith, Jose was a parishioner at St. Philip’s Church in Petrolia, participating as he could. He has answered the call to prepare our final home in Heaven, for when we meet again. We love you Pepe, dad, Tata. A funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Philip’s Church, Petrolia, at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 12, 2012. Interment in Hillsdale Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Women’s Interval Home or St. Joseph’s Hospice, and can be arranged by calling the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia (519) 882-0100.
