Peacefully, surrounded by his family on Monday, November 28, 2011 at Lambton Meadowview Villa, Petrolia. TONY HUYBERS, in his 90th year. Tony farmed for many years in Lambton County after moving to Canada in 1951, and later retired in Wyoming. Tony was the husband of the late Carolyn (2005)...
(nee Smits) for 60 years. Tony was a loving father to Joanne and Jack Rombouts of Watford, John and Jenny Huybers of Courtright, Maria and Joe Gormley of Wallaceburg, Helen and Paul deGroot of Sebringville, Margaret and Adrian Vandenberg of Nova Scotia, Agnes and Jack DeJong of Monkton, Carol and Henk Goertz of Arkona, the late Tony (1999) and Mary Huybers of Camlachie, Ramona and Tom Berkers of Wyoming and Mike and Lillis Huybers of Wyoming. Cherished grandfather of 39 grandchildren, including the late Eric deGroot (1981) and Lisa Gormley (1999) and 47 great grandchildren. Tony is survived by his sister Agnes Rooyakkers, and was predeceased by his brothers John Huybers and his wife Catharina, Leonard Huybers, and his sister Maria Huybers. He is also survived by a sister-in-law Kay Smits of Oakville and by numerous extended family members in Holland as well as in Canada. Visitors will be received on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the NEEDHAM-JAY FUNERAL HOME, Petrolia. Parish Prayers will be offered on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. from St. Philip’s Parish, King St., Petrolia. Interment will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery, Wyoming. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Canadian Cancer Society or Canadian Diabetes Association.
